On Sept. 29, William Goodrich Jones State Forest will be participating in National Public Lands Day by providing volunteers the opportunity to walk part of all of the 15 miles of trails in the forest and collect trash.

Trash bags and trail maps will be provided at a check-in station staffed by local scouts and Texas Master Naturalists, who will be on hand to answer questions.

The event goes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
