    Cowtown Famous Trees

    Cowtown Famous Trees

This map highlights a tour of famous trees in the Fort Worth, Texas area. Famous trees are trees that have witnessed exciting events in Texas’ frontier history. It’s been said that every tree tells a story. And if Texas’ trees could speak, what stories they would tell — stories of love, honor, mystery, justice and injustice. Follow the Cowtown path and see where Sam Houston camped, where treasure was buried, and where a 2,000–mile cattle trail had its beginning.

To learn more about famous trees in Texas, tour this story map or wander through the Famous Trees of Texas website.

In the map, the streets and other reference information are from Open Street Map. The route between trees comes from Google Maps. The symbol for the trees is an Esri map symbol that was edited in Adobe Illustrator.
